From London ( Aberlady is around 400 miles North of Britain's Capital ) and the South the britain Mapmost direct route is by the A1 road - which is mainly dual carriageway & motorway - as far as Haddington and then the A6137 to the village.

Travelling from West or Southwest areas of Britain take the M6 motorway as far as Carlisle, then North of carlisle join the A7, continue on this road to the A720 ( Edinburgh by-pass ) ,travel East along the A720 and then directions are as below for A1 ( South ), etc.

From West & North Scotland head for the Edinburgh by-pass ( A720 ) travel East until the Sherrifhall Roundabout ( North of Dalkeith ), continue East along the A 720 to the next roundabout turn right onto the A1 ( South ), follow this road as far as the Bankton Junction then follow signs to Longniddry then Aberlady ( A198 ).

Note All of the above routes are suggestions only, you may know of a better one.

Train - to Longniddry, then Bus to Aberlady.

Check with the airline companies for availability of flights to Edinburgh Airport.

By Ferry - This service has now been discontinued
Norfolk Line operates a service between Zebrugge ( Belgium ) and Rosyth. Directions from there are ( if you are driving ) to head for Edinburgh and then follow the directions above for visitors from North and West Scotland. Or direct by taxi to the village.
