A course which at one time was a regular venue for The Open Championship Nowadays the County boasts 19 courses from the Musselburgh clubs in the West to Dunbar Golf Club in the East, all of them in wonderful locations. The great variety in length, layout and location means an endless challenge of skill and temperament. Of all East Lothian's courses, Muirfield must be the most famous, being a regular host to The Open Championship. This competition was played for the first time over the Prestwick course in the West of Scotland in 1860, where the first winner of the prize belt was a golfer from Musselburgh, Willie Park. Today the winner receives the famous Claret Jug. Ad provided by Amazon
